Visit TripAdvisorThe public transportation is the cheapest and most common way to get from Quito to Banos. There are numerous companies offer many different departures in Quitumbe Terminal. You can take private transportation which will cost you about $100-$120. Depending on your budget either option is great.

There are 3 direct buses from Guayaquil to Banos: Transportes Baños, San Francisco, Flota Pelileo; or buses that goes to Ambato and from there is pretty easy to get a bus ride to Baños (it takes 1 hour and goes every 15 minutes)
Time: 6.5 hours
Cost: $10
Head towards the bus station which is situated back over the bridge as if you are going out of town and then to the left. In-between the bus station and the Santa Maria supermarket. Buses run every 15 minutes.
Time: 2 hours
Cost: $5
Transport companies: Sucre Buses, Patria Buses, Tourism Cuenca Buses. It takes about 6-7 hours due to Ambato and from there to baños.
Or you can drop off in Riobamba and take the bus from Transportes Riobamba & Transportes Sangay.
